Doris Mae Cullins' Obituary
Doris M. Cullins, age 94 passed away early Thursday morning, February 18, 2021 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio.
She was born June 18, 1926 in Muskingum County, Ohio to the late Edgar and Gladys (Robb) Welsh. She married George E. “Joe” Cullins on January 17, 1944, he preceded her in death January 2, 2013. Doris retired from White-Westinghouse in 1986 after 28 years in the Accounting Department. A 63 year member of Neal Avenue United Methodist Church, Mrs. Cullins was an adored and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great nana. She cherished spending time with her family and enjoyed watching OSU football and basketball. After her retirement she and Joe spent summers at the cottage at Burr Oak in Glouster and winters in Vero Beach, Florida.
Survivors include her daughters, Janet (Tom) Benjamin of Lima, Ohio; Shari Lewis of Hanover, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Nancy Cullins-Wolfe; sister-in-law, Elnora Seydler; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Cullins was preceded in death by two children, Joseph "Eddie" Cullins and Bonita “Bonnie” Holtz; and sons-in-law, David Lewis and Kenneth Holtz; a great grandson, Graham David Lewis; sisters, Dorothy Welsh, Ruth Coverdale, Katherine Lescalleet; and a brother, Harry Welsh.
Graveside funeral service will be 12p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Wilson Cemetery with Pastor David Pagura officiating.
