Donna Jean Veyon's Obituary
A memorial service for Donna Jean Veyon, 70 of Newark will be held Saturday February 18, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Cory Campbell officiating.
Donna died Tuesday February 7, 2017 at her residence. She was born May 11, 1946 in Zanesville to Stanley S. and Thelma M. (Crook) Colborn.
Donna served as a loss prevention associate at the Newark Meijer and retired after 20 years. She enjoyed family camping trips and traveling across the country with her husband during retirement. They also sailed on several cruises. Her family was her highest priority. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking cookies for her grandchildren. A favorite pastime was antiquing.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Marvin A. Veyon, whom she married November 19, 1967; three daughters, Elonna (Michael) Ambrus of West Chester, OH, Marcia (Michael) Toomey of Newark, Heather (James) Helle of Newark; grandchildren, Andrew Ambrus, Eric Ambrus, Emily Ambrus, Nathaniel Ambrus, Ellie Toomey, Sarah Toomey, Zackary Perdue, Alec Perdue; sisters, Linda Householder, Darlene (Mike) Watts, Carla Jo Moore; brothers, Ron (Jan Pingle) Colborn, Dean (Carla) Colborn; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a twin sister, Monna at birth.
Visitation will be observed from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday February 18, 2017 at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
