So sorry for your loss. May God give you comfort.
I had the pleasure of working with Donn at OC for many years. He became a good friend & I always enjoyed our many conversations. I was excited to bump into him a couple of times after we both retired. What a great guy who always had a great story to tell about his family. Rest in peace Donn. You will be missed.
Donn was one of nicest and kindest people I have ever known. I went from grade 1 -12 with him. We only lived a couple of streets apart. Always a smile and hello and a laugh I always remembered. Blessings and love to all of his family.. you were very lucky. RIP Donn.
Please accept my sincere sympathy and condolences for your loss.
What a terrific man. Loved the lord and his family. Pat I am sorry we lost touch after Christ United was no more.
I have many fond memories of Donn, but here’s my favorite. We were working on a project together that required us to commission some testing at one of our mothballed plants in Eloy, Arizona. It was the middle of the summer and baking hot. Donn wasn’t feeling well. I believe he was just coming off of one of his many surgeries. His wife Pat was at home recovering from a surgery, a broken hip I think. So Donn had a lot on his mind, but he discovered that the custodian of our mothballed plant had a wife that was in the hospital and wanted to do something for them. He asked us fellow travelers at dinner that evening if we would be willing to pitch in on a gift. Of course, we said yes. (What else could we have said to Donn? He was on a mission!) The next morning, on the way to the plant, we stopped at the grocery store so that he could buy them some food and a bouquet of flowers. It was an amazing thing. Donn‘s mantra was always: others before self. He has been a role model for me - in life and in work - and I will miss him dearly.
Donn was a wonderful human being, gentle kind, always helpful, and an avid outdoorsman. I am grateful to have known him, and to be able to call him my friend. May he find eternal peace and may his soul rest in peace.
May memories of happier times sustain you through the difficult days ahead.
To all of the family I am very saddened to hear of Donn passing. I had known him all of his life having grown up in the same church. He was a good and respected man. My condolences to all of you.
I did not keep in touch with Donn after his retirement from Owens Corning, but enjoyed being mentored by him when I started in Roofing in 2004 as “rotational.”
He had a distinct laugh – and gave me the advice to “run until tackled” essentially empowering me to do what I thought was best until told to stop.
Glad that he was with family and had time to spend with them after retirement. Condolences
