Donald J. Larry's Obituary
A funeral service for Donald J. Larry, 85 of Newark will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Gill officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
Mr. Larry died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at SharonBrooke in Newark. He was born December 14, 1928 in Perryton to the late Paul and Doris (Frampton) Larry. A 1946 graduate of Frazeysburg High School, Mr. Larry served 31 years with the Ohio National Guard, retiring in 1979 with the rank of Major. He served in many capacities throughout his full-time National Guard career including Assistant State Maintenance Officer. Mr. Larry was a member of Central Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jo Ann (Hahn) Larry; a daughter, Donna J. Brown of Newark; a son, Jack D. (Nancy) Larry of Ft. Smith, AR; a brother, Gene (Sally) Larry of Newark; nephew, Mike (Sue) Larry of Newark; and a great nephew, Jordan Larry of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Larry was preceded in death by his mother in-law Freda Hahn, and son in-law, Timothy G. Brown.
Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
