Donald L. Freeze's Obituary
A funeral service for Donald L. Freeze, 57 of Newark will be held Saturday July 6, 2019 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Bruce Hissong officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Donald died Sunday June 30, 2019 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born November 10, 1961 in Waverly, OH to Chester Leroy and Violet Mae (Perkins) Freeze.
He had attended Northside Church of Christ for many years. He was employed at Tectum made by Armstrong as a fork lift operator. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing and camping. He was a drag racing and NASCAR enthusiast. He was an avid Buckeye fan.
Survivors include his wife, Laura (McPeek) Freeze; children, Daniel J. Freeze, Doneisha J. Freeze, John Owens,Jr. all of Newark, Jenny Owens-Whitt (Vance) of Alaska; sister, Connie Albright Freeze of Newark, Darrel Freeze (Debbie) of Frazeysburg, Anthony Nichols, of Newark; grandchildren, Jeffery Owens, Abigail Owens, Sonja Owens, Aden Whitt, Sura Whitt, Shelby Whitt, Tryston Whitt, Shila Whitt, Ember Whitt; mother-in-law, Verna McPeek of Newark; sisters-in-law, Sandra "Sam" Freeze, Betty Jo Freeze of Newark; aunt, Darlene Oder; uncles, Wayne (Chris) Perkins, James Perkins all of Newark; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by children, Jeffery Owens, Donita Mae Freeze, Donald Michael Freeze; brothers, David Freeze, Dale Freeze, Chester Freeze, Wayne Freeze.
Calling hours will be observed Friday July 5, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main St.
