Don Latham's Obituary
A funeral service for Don Latham, 89 of Newark will be held Friday July 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Perry officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Mr. Latham died Tuesday July 15, 2014 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born November 14, 1924 in Coshocton to the late Richard and Leatha (Palmer) Latham.
He retired from Rockwell Manufacturing as a tool and die maker and a member of Local # 1037 U.A.W. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. He served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed being outdoors working in his garden and doing yard work. He loved big band music. Don loved his family and his many dogs. He was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda L. LaRue; granddaughter, Tiffany LaRue both of Newark; brother-in-law, Harold Hardesty of Coshocton; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hardesty of Coshocton, many nieces, nephews and his Faith United Methodist Church family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Iona L. (Hardesty) Latham, November 16, 2011; a sister and son-in-law, Chuck LaRue.
Calling hours will be observed one hour prior to services on Friday at the Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main St.
