Diana L. Mathews' Obituary
Newark: Diana L. Mathews was surrounded by her family as she lost her battle to cancer on Wednesday, September 21, 2011. She was born on January 7, 1958 to the late Harry and Alta Jean (Litzinger) Stalling.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Fred, of 36 years; daughter, Matia of Newark; and son, Mikael Shea of Cincinnati. She has one brother, Keith (Judy) Stalling of Columbus; and sister, Monica Stalling of Newark; many aunts, uncles, neices and nephews, dear friends, and wonderful co-workers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother and father in-law, George and Mabel Mathews, who thought of her as a daughter.
Diana was a stay-at-home mom who took the wrinkles out of lives with her at-home ironing business, and then started a career at CVS Pharmacy in 1997. She was a team leader for Easter Seals, VSA, Central Ohio Diabetes, and supported the Relay For Life and numerous other community events. Her laugh was contagious, and she gave her heart to her family, friends, co-workers and everyone who crossed her path.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at VENSIL-ORR & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
The family expresses sincere gratitude to Licking Memorial Hospital, Hospice of Central Ohio and Dr. Yadav's office for taking the time to get to know mom and for providing excellent care during her fight.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at any PNB office to the Diana Mathews Benefit Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
