Deacon Keith M. Scott's Obituary
A homegoing service celebrating the life of Keith M. Scott, 55 of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Noble officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Scott passed April 18, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 4, 1960 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Preston Scott, Sr. and Catherine (Hunter) Scott. A 1980 graduate of Newark High School. He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, member of Mass Choir, Male Chorus, taught Sunday School and Catechism, visited and prayed with the sick and loved to study the word of God. Keith was an avid bike rider. He attended the State wrestling tournament when he was in high school and played football.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 33 years, Tina M. (Kelley) Scott, whom he married May 14, 1983; a son, Joshua Keith Scott of Newark; a granddaughter, Mionah Justine Scott; a sister, Louise L. Countryman of Columbus; brothers, Larry Jackson of Philadelphia, PA and John (Amanda) Scott of Newark; devoted sisters in-law, Margo Harris, Nancy Jackson; and cousin, Charles (Karrie) Weems.
In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by brothers, Preston Scott, Jr., Andrew Scott, Larry Scott and Melvin Jackson.
Friends and family may visit 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2015 at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, NEWARK CHAPEL, 1850 W. Main St., Newark and from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m Monday, April 25, 2016 at the church, 383 Washington St.,Newark.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Keith M. Scott Memorial Fund, c/o The Park National Bank.
