David H. York's Obituary
David H. York, 76 of Newark, formerly of Lancaster passed away March 15, 2021 at his home in Newark. He was born December 31, 1944 in Williamson, WV to the late Howard and Dorothy (Maynard) York.
A veteran of the U.S. Airforce, Mr. York retired after 30 years as a school teacher, coach, referee and driver education instructor. His first love was basketball and he also enjoyed football. He was a member of Fairfield Christian Church in Lancaster.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria (Rose) York; children, Mark D. York of Grove City, Suzette L. (Marc) Huston of Lancaster; grandchildren, Olivia York, Jillinda York, Mason Huston and Crayton Huston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alannah S. (Jennings) York; and a sister.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
Funeral services will be at 1p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Gary R. Dheel, officiating. Burial will follow at Stukey Cemetery, Lancaster.
