David F. Smith's Obituary
Private family services for David F. Smith, 67 of Newark will be held at a later date.
Mr. Smith died Thursday October 8, 2015 at his residence following a short illness. He was born June 28, 1948 in Newark to the late Oscar F. and Ruth Eileen (Hewitt) Smith.
Dave always enjoyed farming. He spent many enjoyable hours on his grandparent’s farm and continued farming throughout his life. He had been employed in the maintenance department at Owens Corning Fiberglas Technical Center and had also been employed at Kaiser Aluminum. He was a member of several organizations including Acme # 554 F &AM, VFW # 1060, Newark Eagles # 387 and Newark Moose Lodge.
He is survived by three sons, Jason Smith, Justin F. and Tiffany Mensing-Smith, Jeffrey Smith all of Newark; grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Jayden Smith, Dylan Smith; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be observed Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
