Daniel Wesley Cottrell's Obituary
Daniel Wesley Cottrell, 82 of Newark was called to his home on high on Friday October 26, 2018. He was born July 1, 1936 in Granville to Carl Lloyd and Rada Bay (Lowe) Cottrell.
Daniel was employed 38 years for Tech International as a pressman and truck driver. He also served as a bus driver for Johnstown Schools. He was a 1955 graduate of Alexandria High School. He enjoyed gospel music, football, baseball, hunting, fishing and cutting and splitting wood.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Trotter) Cottrell; daughters, Angela (Dale) Richards, Andrea Koch all of Utica, Anita (Steve) Mercer of Alexandria; step-daughter, Mari (Gary) Church of Newark; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Cletus, Lloyd, Larry and Dwight Cottrell; step-son, James Brian Simcox; step-grandson, Joe Church.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday October 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street with Pastor Bryan Grove officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Alexandria. Calling hours will be observed Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
The family requests memorial contributions to Generations Hospice or a favorite charity. The family would like to thank everyone at Generations Hospice and Flint Ridge.
