Claudia A. Billingsley's Obituary
A memorial service for Claudia A. (Norman) Billingsley will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, with Pastor Terry Amspaugh officiating. A visitation will be observed one hour before the service.
Claudia passed away peacefully Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the Altercare Newark, North Care Center. She was born January 29, 1945, in Zanesville to G. Raymond and Helen C. (Gillogly) Norman.
She was a graduate of Sheridan High School. She retired as an accounts payable clerk for Holophane/JM, where she was a member of the Crystal Club and Quarter Century Club. She loved the company and was proud of their products.
Claudia was kind and thought of others before herself. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, square dancing with her husband, mowing the lawn, and caring for her horses, Victory, Bonnet, and Trigger Lee, and her kitty, Tabatha.
Besides her parents, Claudia was preceded in death by her husband Darl; brothers, Dale and David.
She is survived by her sister, Carol (Jack) Norman-Foltz of Newark; sister-in-law, Helen M. Norman of Savannah, GA; nephew, Craig (Marcela) Norman of Cumming, GA; nieces, Stephanie Harrell of Hilliard, Teresa (Todd) Blackstone of Marysville, Debbie Overmoe of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Cindy Parsons of Destin, FL; great niece, Maia Norman; great nephews, Evan Harrell, Brandon Norman, and Caelan, Conner, and Trystan Foreman; and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to The Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio P.O. Box 430 Newark, Ohio 43058-0430 or the Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio Chapter 1379 Dublin Road Columbus, Ohio 43215-1089.
