Caroll Mowry- Provance's Obituary
A memorial service for Caroll Mowry-Provance 86 of Newark will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Provance died Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Autumn Healthcare of Somerset. She was born May 21, 1927 in Parkersburg, WVA to the late Marshall W. and Dulcie E. Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husbands; Frank Mowry and Richard Provance.
She has been a Newark resident since 1959. She was a member of the Newark Moose and Licking Valley Coon Hunters Club. She was baptized in 1960 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on 5th Street.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley (Herbie) Scarlett of Ft. Myers, FL; sons, David (Lisa) Lanham of MS.; Bruce Lanham of TN., Jeffrey Lanham of KS; grandchildren, Beverly Cook of Ind., Melissa Clements of OH, Matthew Lanham of VA.; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Shelia (Chuck) Sheppard of Heath, Nancy (John) Mitton, Clint (Sandy Provance, Fred (Lynn) Provance all of Newark; six step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Association.
The family has entrusted services to the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Homes 1850 West Main Street, Newark, OH.
