Carol I. Ford's Obituary
A memorial service for Carol I. Ford, 78 of Newark will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Bartlette officiating.
Mrs. Ford died Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 18, 1937 in Licking County to George A. and Martha J. (Kettlewell) Bruce.
Mrs. Ford retired from the Newark City School System. She worked a number of years as a nurse’s aide in the area including LPN Nursing Home. She was a very unselfish person and received great satisfaction in helping provide care to others. Mrs. Ford enjoyed reading and solving word search and crossword puzzles; her family was her greatest joy of life.
Survivors include two sons, K. Fred (Sue) Ford, Carlin L. (Joyce) Ford, all of Newark; grandchildren, Stacey (Sean) Weekley, Gina Ford, James Fred (Danielle) Ford, all of Newark; great-grandchildren, Sheldon Weekley, Skyler Weekley, Lucas McKee, Sony McKee, Jasmin McKee; sisters, Wilma “Marge” Prince of Newark, Sue Angle of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Karl F. Ford, Sr on September 1, 2010; sister, Wanda Prince; brothers, Carl “Bud” Bruce and Robert Lee Bruce.
Friends and family may visit 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main St., Newark.
