Carol Sue Bistline's Obituary
Carol Sue Bistline, 71, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio died January 8th, 2017 surrounded by her family. Carol Bistline, the daughter of Lewis and Alice Turrill, sister to Thomas Turrill, is survived by her husband, Richard Bistline, and her children: Krista Bistline, Kendra Wecker, Lindsey Beckwith, and Jed Bistline. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, and one feline fur baby named Sweetie. Carol Bistline, great granddaughter of Benjamin Franklin Sonnanstine, was born May 17, 1945 in Durham, North Carolina, where her father served in the Army Corp. of Engineers during WW2. She was a Daughter of the American Revolution, and decedent of the Sonnanstine family from Pirna, Germany.
Raised in the Fairlawn area of Akron, Ohio, some of her fondest childhood memories included shopping at the O’Neil’s department store with her grandmother, dancing to "At the Hop" by Danny and the Juniors, and listening to her father playing trumpet with his band.
Carol Bistline attended Kent State University, where she met the love of her life—Richard Bistline. She was a classy, passionate, strong woman who loved her family, shopping, and cats. Friends and family will remember Carol for her kindness, strength, and unconditional love. Caring and creative, her advice was deeply valued. She had an innate ability to see the positive in any situation, and greeted life with a smile and a strong shoulder. She believed in hope and possibility, no matter the odds. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A private family viewing will be held Thursday, January 12th, with a graveside service the same day.
