Carl D. Shaw's Obituary
NEWARK: A private graveside service for Carl D. Shaw, 90 of Newark will be held at a later date.
Mr. Shaw died Tuesday at Selma Markowitz Care Center. He was born April 24, 1924 in Beach City to the late Ivan and Mamie (Boyles) Shaw. He had retired from Owens-Corning. Mr. Shaw and his late wife enjoyed traveling; he particularly enjoyed camping and visiting Amish Country. He also enjoyed annual visits to Texas.
Survivors include his son, James (Mary “Ree”) Shaw of Newark; daughter, Mary (Shannon) Thomas of Johnstown; a granddaughter, Sandi (Ralph) Clark; and a legacy of many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren who loved him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Virginia (Bennett) Shaw, August 15, 2011; a son, Carl C. Shaw; daughters, Marilyn Bragg and Sandra Brewer; a grandson; five brothers; and four sisters.
