Calvin E. Osborn's Obituary
A funeral service for Calvin E. Osborn, 64 of Newark will be held Monday, October 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan Dahlke officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Mr. Osborn died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 12, 1948 in Newark to the late Lewis C. Osborn, Sr. and Pearl (Roley) Osborn of Tallmadge, Ohio.
Mr. Osborn was a self-employed builder. He had been employed as a sub-contractor for Mark Builders, He was formerly with Osborn Brothers Builders and had worked several years at the Newark Air Force Base. He had served 10 years in the U. S. Air Force. He was a 1966 graduate of Licking Valley High School. He enjoyed spending time with his family. His hobbies included gardening, feeding the wild birds, watching the OSU football and basketball games.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Vicki M. (Wolfe) Osborn whom he married July 29, 1989; daughter, Jody (Mark) Guenther of Dublin; step-daughters, Brandy (Kyle) Kinsch of Milford, Linka (Jacob) Conkle of Newark; nine grandchildren, Jason, Nicholas, Levi, Eli, Mayla, Olivia, Allie, Kira, Jacob; sisters, Pansy Queen of Newark, Joy (Ed) Phillips of Tallmadge, Judith (Ronnie) Hewitt of Newark; brothers, Delbert (Peg) Osborn of Leesburg, FL., Lewis C. (Karen) Osborn, Jr. of Frazeysburg, Asa (Marilyn) Osborn of Newark; several nieces, nephews and his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis C. Osborn, Sr.; sister, Janice Osborn; son, Nicholas Tsavarus; step-son, Jason Brill; brother-in-law, Bill Queen; father and mother in law, Beryl & Ruby Wolfe.
Calling hours will be observed Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
The family request memorial contributions to the Calvin Osborn Benefit Fund C/o Park National Bank. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
