Bonnie L. Dunn's Obituary
A graveside funeral service for Bonnie L. (Haycook) Dunn, 82 of Newark will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Mark Katrick officiating.
Mrs. Dunn died Tuesday morning, July 12, 2011 at Kingston of Ashland in Ashland, Ohio after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born March 8, 1929 in Newark to the late Gerald and Hazel (Devereaux) Haycook. A 1947 graduate of Newark High School Mrs. Dunn had worked for the Newark Telephone Company, Newark City Schools and retired in 1991 from Ohio Bureau of Employment Services. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and a former member of the Business and Professional Women Association. Mrs. Dunn absolutely loved to read and enjoyed her very frequent visits to the Newark Public Library. She was above all, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her sons, Terrance J. (Eleanor) Dunn of Lynchburg, Virginia, Timothy F. (Diana) Dunn of Ashland; grandchildren, Meredith I. Dunn and Adam J. Dunn, both of Mt. Vernon; step grandchildren, Curtis Brown of Columbus, Capt. Jason Brown, USAF, serving in Guam, Amanda Brown of Ashland, Jordan Brown of Ashland: a step great-grandson, Christian Brown of Ashland; two sisters, Betty Roffey of Newark and Mary Carter of Whitehall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Dunn, whom she married June 16, 1951 and who died May 4, 2011; and two brothers.
Friends and family may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the VENSIL-ORR & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
