Beverly J. "Bevie" Green's Obituary
A funeral service for Beverly J. “Bevie’ Green, 73, of Fredericktown will be held Sunday September 30, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of The Church of God, 13160 Henry Road, Mt. Vernon, OH, with Pastor Jason Harding officiating. Calling hours will be observed Saturday September 29th from 2 to 5 p.m. at the church. Burial will be held Monday October 1, 2018 at10:00 a.m. in Wilson Cemetery, 4254 Marion Road, NE, Newark, OH
Mrs. Green died Wednesday September 26, 2018 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She was born February 24, 1945 in Columbus to Karl C. and Lily M. (Jones) Wentzel, II.
Mrs. Green retired in 2014 as the marketing director for 64 Metals. She was also known as “64” Metals Mom and “64” Homemaker. She was a 1963 graduate of Columbus Central High School and attended Warner Pacific University of Portland, OR.
Mrs. Green was a lifetime member of The Church of God. Some of her earliest memories included attending church with her grandmother. She was a devout Christian. She showed her faith and love through gifting. She was a biblical and virtuous woman. She often served as the pianist at the Bladensburg church. Bev enjoyed cooking and reading cookbooks. She looked forward to planning family dinners. A favorite pastime was drives in the country. She was fortunate to be able to travel, having vacationed eight times in Hawaii.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Clarence E. Green, whom she married March 27, 1971; children, Walter (Barbie) Green of Fredericktown, Wayne (Tonja Nutter) Green of Mt. Vernon, Woody (Dorenda) Green of Keller, TX, Melody (Justin) Blake of Lewis Center, Mandy (Thomas A.) Hughes, II of Pickerington, Molly (Lance) Grubb of Blacklick; grandchildren, Clint, Nolan, Alexander, Aiden, Landon, Chloe, RaeLynn; sisters, Janice (Daniel) Wilkin of Heath, Becky (Rodger) Orr of Newark; brother, Karl C. (Mary) Wentzel, III of Deltona, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandparents; John (Minnie) Jones, Sr., Karl C. (Hazel Barrows) Wentzel, Sr.; brother, Richard Wentzel; sister, Lillian Armentrout.
