I was so sorry to hear of Betty’s passing. She was the sweetest lady I’ve known. My memory of her is my daughter, Allison Shelly Pruden (who is now 50) was in her class at South Zanesville Elementary school. Allison was in a horrific bicycle accident and was in the hospital in serious condition and had several surgeries. Betty came to the hospital every day to visit and sit with her. After Allison was able to return to school several weeks later, Betty watched over her as Allison had to be very careful of her head and mouth, that it wouldn’t get bumped. We continued this friendship and never forgot her. We will always remember her kindness. Our heartfelt sympathies to her family. I’m just sorry I didn’t know of her passing until after her funeral as Allison and I would have definitely been there to pay our respects. God bless her. Sincerely, Beth Gabriel Shelly
While I had only met Betty a few times in our lives, I an certain she was an incredible person; may she rest in peace.
My condolences to her family.

Mrs. Wiechert was my fifth grade teacher. She was always kind, encouraging, and compassionate. She loved learning and inspired it in her students. I emulate her positivity and passion for teaching in my own classroom at OSU. I am grateful she was my teacher. Go with God, Mrs. Wiechert. Prayers for her family.
