Betty was a fun person to be around. Loved and respected by so many.
I had the pleasure of being in Mrs. Myers' class twice at Jefferson Elementary, in a 2nd/3rd grade split class and 4th/5th grade split class. Many times, I think about her exceptional classroom management that enabled her to have two grades in one classroom! She was one of my favorite teachers who challenged and inspired me. She taught me cursive writing in 2nd grade, cross-stitching in an after-school club, and involved many of us in publishing a school newspaper in 5th grade. As a student, I appreciated these fun and creative opportunities. I will always cherish the times I spent with Betty at 5th grade Camp Ohio after I became a teacher, too!
I always remember Betty with a smile and a positive outlook. We were in the first masters program in education at OUZ. Over 20 years later, I had the pleasure of teaching her granddaughters at WMMS. My condolences to her family.
Doug, Marti and Family,
Our sympathy and prayers in the loss of your beloved mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful woman, mother and teacher.

Betty and Dean were dear friends of my parents. I can imagine the joyful reunion they must be having now, together again.
I was a student in Mrs. Myers reading class and later a colleague at Tri-Valley. I can’t remember a time when she didn’t have a smile on her face. We spent many years together at Camp Ohio. She was a delight. After her retirement, I would see her on Election Day. She often volunteered at the polls. She is someone who never seemed to age. She was a great teacher and I will always remember her fondly.
My sympathies and so sorry for your loss to Doug and Derrick and families, also, to the Wolford family. I was always around the family growing up, because her brother Donnie was my Brother-in-Law, who was around me practically all my life. Betty was always sweet and always smiling or laughing. Our hearts are with you and thinking of you and family.
Sincerely,
Diana Shinn and Rich Kovaleski
The year I had Mrs. Myers it was a split 4th/5th class. She let us do so much fun stuff that year. She taught us cross-stitching after school - something I still do almost 40 years later. I’ve thought of her often.
With deepest sympathy. She was a special lady. We will pray for you all.
We are so sorry for your loss. Our family will keep you in our thoughts and prayers
