Bessie Mae Elliott's Obituary
A memorial service for Bessie Mae Elliott, 85 of Newark will be held Thursday September 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heath Church of Christ, 1331 Chapel Way, Heath, Ohio with Dave Mason officiating. A visitation will be held one hour before services in the Fireside Room. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Mrs. Elliott died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the Newark Healthcare Centre. She was born July 16, 1926 in Lyles, TN. to the late William Earnest and Bessie Bell (Brown) Myatt.
She attended Heath Church of Christ with her daughter and had attended Southgate Church of Christ. Her husband had served in the United States Air Force and the family had lived in many locations throughout the country including Alaska. Bessie had retired from Western Electric.
Survivors include her daughter, Elva Gay Elliott of Newark, son, Carlos Earl (Beverly) Elliott, Sr. of Columbus; grandchildren, Will (Trisha) Hinds of Newark, Carl (Karen) Hinds of Newark, Brian (Elizabeth) Elswick of Fredericktown, Carlos (Tiffany) Elliott of Newark, Christina Titus of Columbus, Melissa Elliott of Utica, Teresa Werber of Georgia; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Goff, Dorothy Jean (Robert) Wetterau of Tennessee, Gladys Marie (Artie) Collins of Alabama; brother-in-law, Jack Graves of Tennessee; eighteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ollie Wilson Elliott on November 20, 2000; sister, Betty Lou (Myatt) Graves; two brothers, James Carlos Myatt and Charles Ray Myatt.
