Bertha May Grossenbacher's Obituary
Bertha M. Grossenbacher, 90, formerly of Newark, Ohio died Monday morning, January 21, 2019 at Glenwood Nursing Home in Canton, Ohio.
Born May 12, 1928 in Licking County, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Rollie Edward and Bessie (Priest) Ford and was a 1946 graduate of Hanover-Toboso High School. Mrs. Grossenbacher was a homemaker and she attended the 38th Street Church of Christ in Canton and was a former member of Southgate Church of Christ in Heath, Ohio. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking. Bertha was a very kind and humble, Christian lady who loved everyone and everyone loved her.
Surviving is one daughter, Tresa J. Grossenbacher of Canton; several nieces and nephews and her “granddog”, “Charmer”.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 57 years, William Earl Grossenbacher whom she married July 27, 1945 and who died April 11, 2002. Mom and Dad are together again! Also preceding her in death are two brothers, Paul Ford and Carl Ford and two sisters, Mary Esworthy Pimm and Dorothy Bosold.
Calling hours will be from Noon to 1pm Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, January 25, 2019 at the funeral home with Minister David Myers officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery.
