Raymond W. Parmer and his wife, sons spent years with the family including elk hunting w. the Col. Stevens in the high county of Colo.Probably some of the most beautiful area in Colorado near Aspen, CO. Ray had some of the most enjoyable times w/ Bernard hunting ELK. Ray/Bernard became life time friends.Ray prays for the family and has been never forgotten. Ray always spoke highly of the Col. Stevens

I was so sorry to hear about Steve's death. We first met working at H&R Block and have kept in touch ever since. I sincerely hope that the happy memories you as a family have of him will help to ease the pain of your loss.
I always knew him as Uncle Steve, as his niece Martha Lacy and I visited with him often. I had the pleasure of knowing Sylvia through Martha and still have fond memories of our fun times together. My father, John Wright ran oil on his farm for many years and held a high respect for Uncle Steve. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and I know my bff Martha, whom I miss everyday as well as my father are glad to great Uncle Steve at the pearly gates and welcome home to a better place and life everafter.
I did not have the privilege of knowing Col. Stevens but his bio sounds like the classical citizen soldier Cincinnatus. Another American hero.
