Barbara J. Wood's Obituary
Funeral Services for Barbara J. Wood, 79 of Newark will be held Monday, February 17, 2014 at10:30 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Wayt officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Barbara died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 29, 1934 in Newark to the late William and Sophia (Sayatovich) Johnson.
She retired in 1997 from Diebold. Barbara was a member of Newark Moose Lodge. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, gardening and trained horses for sulky racing.
She is survived by her sons, Robert C. Wood, Jr., Perry (Linda) Wood, Phil (Tina) Wood all of Newark; grandchildren, Lisa Frenton, Juston R. Wood & Angela, James R. Wood, Amber (David) Nethers, Alexa Wood, Alysha Wood all of Newark; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Simpson, Jenna Wood, Aleigha Frenton, Brooklyn Frenton, Brynlee Nethers; brothers, William (June) Johnson, Jr. of Newark, Roger Johnson of Venice, Fl.; many loved nieces, nephews; special friends, Paula Wood, Lauren Lewis and Shaylee.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Rodney Wood in 1977.
Calling hours will be observed Sunday February 16, 2014 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
