Barbara A. "Babs" Hankinson's Obituary
A funeral service for Barbara A. “Babs” Hankinson, 59 of Granville will be held Friday March 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Evangelist Jason D. Hankinson officiating. Burial will be in Fredonia Cemetery.
Mrs. Hankinson died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at her residence. She was born February 14, 1954 in Zanesville to Ray and Anna Mae (Kendall) Thompson of Nashport.
She was employed for over 20 years for Englefield Oil Co. and most recently as the manager of the Duke & Duchess at Rt. 13 and N. Vernon Ave. She had attended Nashport United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family. She was also talented in making jewelry. Her favorite vacation area was the Outer Banks.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, David M. Hankinson; children, Megan Crumet of Newark, Travis Evans of Granville, Shane Evans of Granville; step children, Renae (Shane) Quinlan of Alexandria, Jason (Bethany) Hankinson of Walhonding, Eric Hankinson of Flint Ridge, Michael (Sonia) Hankinson of Centerburg; sister, Deborah Weber of Zanesville; grandchildren, Hunter Evans, Jacob Evans, Audrey Hoffman, Jenna Evans, Kyndall Crumet, Kenzie Crumet, Hayden Hankinson, Tristan Hankinson, Tyler Hankinson, Carly Hankinson, Annalissa Hankinson, Juliella Hankinson, Elias Hankinson, Alyson Quinlan, Alex Quinlan; several nieces, nephews; best friends for most of her life Lori Tabler and Wanda Chidester.
She was preceded in death by a sister Rebecca Thompson.
Calling hours will be observed Friday from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
