Arletta L. Roberts' Obituary
A funeral service for Arletta L. Roberts, 82 of Heath will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Belt officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Roberts died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Newark Care and Rehabilitation. She was born April 9, 1936 in Newark, Ohio to the late Wayne and Lillian (Dement) Dollison.
She retired in June of 1997 after 17 years with Alltel (Windstream). She was a 1954 graduate of Newark High School. Arletta loved the Ohio State Buckeyes, especially football; as well as men’s and women’s basketball. She also enjoyed Cleveland Indians baseball. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sons, Randy (Melissa) Roberts of Heath, Robin (Lanie) Roberts of Ashland, OH, John Roberts of Heath; grandchildren, Chelsea (Travis) Stewart of Newark, Ansley Roberts of Denver, CO, Katelyn (Kyle) Robey of Ashland, Lindsey Roberts of Columbus, Sam (Jenna)Roberts of Ashland; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Stewart, Evangeline Stewart, Ruth Anne Robey; several nieces and nephews and canine companion, Buckeye.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Carl D. Roberts, whom she married June 13, 1959 and who died April 23, 2018; a brother, Don Dollison; and a sister, Eleanor (Russell) Shonebarger.
Calling hours will be observed Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
The family requests memorial contributions to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio or the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
