Anna M. Day's Obituary
A funeral service for Anna M. Day, 87 of Newark will be held Monday June 14, 2021 at Noon at the Christian Apostolic Church, 22 N. 23rd with Pastor G. Keith Sjöstrand officiating. A visitation will be observed one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge, OH.
Mrs. Day passed away at her home on Thursday June 10, 2021. She was born November 15,1933 in Point Marion, PA. the first child of Marvin L. and Nellie (Mays) Welsh.
She has been a member of the Christian Apostolic Church for the past 18 years. She was a former member of the Nelsonville United Pentecostal Church for 35 years. She has served the Lord in several positions including Sunday School teacher and pianist. Her primary love was caring for her family. She enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking.
Survivors include her children, Rebecca (Rodney) Reece of Heath, David (Sherry) Day of Thornville, Nathan Day of Newark; grandchildren, Michael (Dawn) Day of Mt. Vernon, Rachel (Matthew) Calhoun of Heath, Raymond (Joslin) Reece of Newark, David (Alexandria) Croom of Blacklick; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, Romiane (Paul) Skaggs, Randolph (Marie) Welsh, Anita Parks all of Newark, Jerry (Donna) Welsh of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Nora Welsh of Newark; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Robert L. Day, who died in 2002; brothers, William “Bill” Welsh, Dan Welsh; brother-in-law, Kenneth Parks.
