Alton H. "Herb" Lewis, Jr.'s Obituary
Alton H. “Herb” Lewis, 69 of Zanesville died Monday morning, August 1, 2016 at Genesis Morrison House.
He was born February 26, 1947 in Coshocton to the late Alton Herbert Lewis, Sr. and Goldie Mae (Rogers) Lewis.
He had been employed by AVDC Distributors and was a former oil field worker. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. He was a member of the Gold Prospectors of America (GPOA). He was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns and the television wrestling matches.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Mary Jane (Harney) Lewis, whom he married December 27, 1993; children¸ Suella Debolt & David Dooley of Hopewell, Joseph (Lori) Debolt of Zanesville, Stacy Buck of Zanesville, Darren Debolt and Mike Lewis of the home; sister, Mina Melrose of Columbus; 22 grandchildren including Katlynn Lewis of the home; 28 great-grandchildren; two nephews and many friends.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday August 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Second Chance Worship Center, 228 Main Street with Pastor Richard Buck officiating A reception will be held immediately following the service.
