Alice Catherine Miller's Obituary
A funeral service for Alice C. Miller, 82 of Heath will be held Saturday May 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Sowers officiating. Burial will be in Pataskala Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller died Tuesday May 23, 2017 at the Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center under the special care of Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born December 18, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to Paul and Eileen (Edwards) Whitmer.
She was employed by Sears & Roebuck in Cleveland in the 1950’s. During the 1970’s, she owned and helped to manage Perkins Restaurant in Heath Ohio. She then enjoyed many years as a full time homemaker. Alice loved family gatherings, holidays, spending time with family and playing cards with her special friends. Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She will be missed by her many family members and friends.
She is survived by her children, James (Janet) Miller of Hebron, Susan (Daniel) Martin of Marne, Robert (Julie) Miller of Heath, Caroline (Rob) Pyatt of Newark; 27 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; sisters, Eileen (Dan) Stockwell, Shirley (Harry) Bishop; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, James Allen Miller, whom she married on April 1, 1954 and died June 20, 1997; sisters, Rosemary (John) Tronti, Carol (Tony) Gentile.
Calling hours will be observed Friday, May 26, 2017 from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
