Albert Breitkreuz's Obituary
A memorial service for Albert Breitkreuz, 85 of Newark will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11a.m. at the Rocky Fork Church of Christ, 12969 Techniglas Road NE. He died unexpectedly on Friday, April 25, 2014.
Mr. Breitkreuz was born in the German village of Janowka, Ukraine on August 5, 1928 to the late Daniel and Emilie (Reimann) Breitkreuz. He immigrated to the United States to make a life here with his family in 1955, and frequently said what a good life it had been. Albert retired after 30 years at the Ford Motor Company, Sharonville Plant, near Cincinnati. Growing up on a farm, and then living on his own farm in Morrow, Ohio for 33 years, he enjoyed raising beef cows, working with his bees, fixing things, and especially working in his vegetable garden. He was a talented self-taught woodworker and made several pieces of furniture for the family. Fellow workers and family knew him as the man who could make and fix just about anything. He moved to Newark with his wife two years ago, to be with his daughter and son-in-law. A very private man, he fiercely loved his family. He was a strong patriarch of the family and led by example.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Waltraud (Rach) Breitkreuz, whom he married on August 29, 1953; son, Dietmar (Cynthia) Breitkreuz of Marietta, GA; daughter, J. Lina (Scott) Robinson of Newark; grandsons, Cody and Dustin of Marietta, GA; step-grandchildren, David Robinson of Houston, TX, Elizabeth (Aaron) Frigaard of Colorado Springs, CO; step-great-grandson, Alexander; half-brother, Erich Wolter of Chicago; half-sister, Hilda Nickel of Germany and special niece, Waltraud of Neuburg, Germany.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations, in Albert’s honor, be made to the Rocky Fork Church of Christ, 12969 Techniglas Road NE, Newark, OH 43055-9496.
