Abbygayle Nicole Hicks' Obituary
A funeral service for Abbygayle Nicole Hicks, 12 of Newark will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2015 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor William C. Lavely officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Abby went to Heaven Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus. She was born July 3, 2002 in Columbus to Donita Rotert of Newark and Malcolm Hicks of Columbus. She was a seventh grade student at Heritage Middle School. Abby played violin in the orchestra, loved gaming, funky t-shirts and was a proud geek in everything. She was a kind and loving person. In a final act of kindness, Abby was able to give the gift of life through organ donation.
In addition to her parents Abby is survived by her sister, Lillie and brother, Adam of the home; grandparents, Mal (Lorena) Hicks of Baltimore; aunts, Billie (Brett Slaughter) Rotert, Katie (Jack) Woolverton, Aprile (Bobby) Fontaine, and Angie (Patrick) Minnier; a cousin, Logan Woolverton; and many other family and friends whom she touched.
Abby was preceded in death by grandparents, Bill and Sheila Rotert.
Friends and family may call 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
Memorial contributions may be made to assist with final expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
